Blogging for Books
Marketing site for RandomHouse titles. Public bloggers are able to sign up for an account and request books in exchange for posting reviews. As the program has expanded, it was redesigned to better reflect RandomHouse as a whole instead of just a subset of imprints. Features extensive controls for managing book availability, bloggers registered, titles orderered, and reviews submitted as well as interfaces for other interactions needed for site display and operation - admin users, emails, ads, content, statistics, and reports.
Handled interactions with client throughout process of building new features, testing, and deploying live. Responsible for development of new features and integrating them into the existing site design. Worked with client dev staff and IT team for various, ongoing development and maintenance needs. Estimated new work and wrote up project briefs as needed.
Front-end built on top of Bootstrap and jQuery. Admin control panel uses Prototype. Connects to Klout, ExactTarget, Edelweiss, and NetGalley APIs. Integrated with client’s database for live data.
Role: Project Lead, Back-end Development, Front-end Development, Mockups as needed

inGage
Presentation application to help schools pitch themselves to prospective students. A student and a school rep both join the same presentation and the studen’s slide is kept in sync with the rep’s via javascript polling. The presentations can have branching options that allow different pieces of data to be shown while keeping the main slide content the same.
A new instance of the application is installed and configured to meet the needs of each particular school, requiring the setup and configuration time to be as minimal as possible. Beside leading project development and overseeing the deployments of the individual instances, I was also responsible for creating the scripts and instructions used to deploy new instances of the application.
